We also strive to raise public awareness surrounding incarceration and share recommendations to government officials on how to improve the reentry process.
In addition to this we host a series of support groups, open forums, conferences, trainings, workshops, and events; in effort to decrease the recidivism rate, poverty levels and bridge the gap between loved ones and the criminal justice system.
Every individual deserves to be treated with fundamental human dignity, regardless of their past.
At the Life After Prison we recognize that past mistakes do not define a person's entire worth or potential.
We focus on providing tools, skills, and support that enable individuals to take control of their own transformation.
We promote restorative justice principles that focus on healing harm and rebuilding social connections.
This involves families, local communities, and support networks in the reentry process.
We create a safe, non-stigmatizing environment where individuals feel supported without shame. Our team encourages open communication and vulnerability as part of personal growth.
We believe in taking responsibility for your actions. We help individuals understand the impact of their past actions while focusing on future potential, using an
informed, compassionate approach.
We stand on respect and
provide culturally sensitive and individualized support that acknowledges systemic inequities that may have contributed to involvement with the justice system.
We recognize that successful reentry requires a networked, collaborative ecosystem of support. Therefore we built partnerships with employers, educational institutions, mental health providers, and community organizations.
